This is the best restaurant we found in Tomar! The food and the service were just superb! 👌👌 We‘d like to send a kind regards to the super funny, curly haired waitress who made our two evenings very special! 👩🦱♥️

Mister François, thank you for your kind review and for your visit. I'm sorry, but you misunderstood the situation, the tables that were without costumers were all reserved for a group of 21 customers. Actually, they arrived while you were with us. Meanwhile, you were told to wait a little bit in the sofa where we served you wine, water, bread and cheese. Thank you and good luck in your "camiño!"

Was highly recommended locally and deserves the high praise. The food was excellent, very well priced and traditional Portuguese cuisine. I had codfish fritters as starter, then black pudding with cabbage as main. Farofais dessert was very light. Plus house red wine. Very good value. Will definitely come back.

We just finished a fantastic dinner at Casa das Ratas. Honestly I was a bit skeptical because it is rated lower than some of the other places in town. We walked by and I saw the menu and thought it looked really good and the atmosphere was nice - it wasn’t loud and the lighting was good. We had couvert, appetizers, mains, dessert, a bottle of wine and a glass of port each. Truly everything was really good, there were a bunch of dishes that I hadn’t seen at other Portuguese restaurants and they were all really good. Plus the co-owner Joao was lovely and spent a lot of time talking to us about the wine. Honestly excellent food, delightful hospitality and very reasonable prices- Tipo de refeição

My favorite restaurant in Tomar. Traditional Portuguese food from absolute top quality products cooked and served by a team of lovely people. And all this at very reasonable prices! What more is there to ask for?

Delicious food and dessert. They make their own wine that is just right for the food they serve. I highly suggest going there for traditional Portuguese food. I felt like I was in grandma’s kitchen. 🤤

Simply delicious Portuguese food, with a local flavour. We had fried mackerel with tomato rice, lamb curry, grilled pork neck fillet, and grilled duck. And even tried their Farófias, a soft meringue-like dessert that simply hit the spot. Great food. However do make a reservation to assure a table. It is a popular spot.

Very nice restaurant with good traditional traditional food and great prices. Checkout their daily dish cus they are quite good. Very friendly staff and manager at the register. Inside and outside seating.

The food is great no matter what you ordered. The lady boss is very kind and jolly. She checks in on us often and made sure we were well taken care of! The price is definitely worth it. Highly recommend this place.

Stumbled across this restaurant while walking through the back streets of Tomar, incredible value for money and every dish we had was great. Excellent local wine, great service from João and the rest of the staff, would highly recommend.

A terrific cozy restaurant with superb food. This is the place to find and eat while visiting Tomar. Excellent food, wonderful wait staff and casual atmosphere. Duck was delicious and the fish was tasty! Don’t forget dessert and a shot to finish. One of the most memorable lunches in Portugal.
Delicious 'home cooked' Portuguese food! Very healthy portions. Friendly staff who accommodate English speaking guests. We booked a table in advance and seemed worth doing as it was very busy.

Yesterday, we had a lovely meal in Casa das Ratas in the historic city centre of Tomar.
We arrived around 12h15 and it was not busy at all. They open at 12 noon and there is a choice of three dining areas; two inside and one outside on the street. It was a hot day, so we opted for the inside area where the bar is.
My partner had Caril de Borego (Lamb Curry) and I had Pataniscas (Battered Cod). They were both delicious.
